Summer Brides

Who doesn’t like summer? Unless you ask a hard-core skier, no one will say they don’t. What is not to like about summer? It is warm, sunny and the time of year when we get vacations, road trips and can spend our days outside, enjoying the beautiful weather that the season has to offer.
Not surprisingly, it is also a very, if not the most popular, season for weddings around the world. Specifically, June 21, the first day of summer that holds with it the symbolism of a new season dawning and the longest day of the year.
As a result of the summer wedding, you will want to have summer flowers, but what flowers will work best in a summer wedding setting?
One excellent flower to use is the Calla Lilly, which is a funnel-shaped and elegant flower that are six to nine inches in length. They are available throughout the summer and come in colors ranging from white to orange and dark magenta. As a result of their nice, calm summer colors, they are very popular in wedding bouquets, as well as in centerpieces, or carried by themselves by the bridesmaids.
Dendrobium Orchids are very delicate, six-petal flowers that come in very exotic colors.
Often, these flowers will be put in hair, sprinkled over tables or the aisle, and added to centerpieces.
Dahlias are available through the summer and early fall and come in rich colors when they are in full-bodied bloom. They are excellent for centerpieces and as decorations in the pews.
The old standby is the Daisy, which is a classic wedding flower that symbolizes hope, purity and innocence. They can be mixed with green in a bouquet, put in vases as centerpieces or held by bridesmaids. It is not a summer wedding if it does not have Daisies as a part of it.
Another very popular summer flower is the Chrysanthemum, which is like the Daisy and has narrow petals that come in many more colors than the Daisy. They are perfect for centerpieces or bouquets.
If you can get them when they are in full bloom, one of the most beautiful summer wedding flowers is Baby’s Breath, which has tiny white blossoms that can be used as filler in bouquets or centerpieces.

All of these flowers only scratch the surface of the number of flowers you can have for your summer wedding. In the summer, more flowers are blooming, and are cheaper, than in any other season so it is best to take advantage of that. Whether it is a Daisy or Dendrobium Orchid, you will be able to create some astonishing arrays of flowers when you buy them in bulk from http://www.americanfloraldistributors.com/ which specializes in providing flowers for weddings at the right price, without the worry about losing the flowers before they arrive.
